Data & Privacy –
Total Wealth Plans
Your privacy matters.
Total Wealth Plans are built to work using estimates and non-identifying inputs. You stay in control of what you share.
Privacy, Confidentiality & Safe Use
These tools are designed to help you organise your thoughts, structure your case, and communicate clearly.
They are not legal services, and content created here is not covered by legal professional privilege.
In simple terms, this means that if your case becomes part of a formal complaint or legal process, documents you create may be reviewed as part of that process.
That doesn’t limit your ability to use these tools — it simply means using them wisely.
How to use this safely and effectively
-
Focus on facts — what happened, when, and who was involved
-
Keep communications clear and measured — avoid speculation or emotional language
-
Use this space to organise and refine — then review before sending anything externally
-
Only include what is relevant — you don’t need to share everything to be credible
-
Build consistency over time — strong cases are clear, structured, and steady
This platform is here to help you think clearly, stay organised, and move forward with confidence — on your terms.
What We Do Not Require
What you should NOT share
Please don’t enter:
-
Passport/ID numbers or scans
-
National Insurance / tax reference numbers
-
Full account numbers, card numbers, security details
-
Copies of bank statements, investment statements, or provider screenshots
-
Passwords, verification codes, or logins
-
Any data you wouldn’t want stored in your AI chat history
What you can use instead
The system works using:
-
Rounded figures and ranges (e.g., “£40–£60k”, “~£12k savings”)
-
Scenario inputs and assumptions
-
Non-identifying summaries (“a workplace pension”, “a mortgage”, “a credit card balance”)
How AI is used in Total Wealth Plan
AI is used as a structured thinking assistant to:
-
Explain concepts in plain English
-
Model scenarios and trade-offs (using your estimates)
-
Clarify goals and priorities
-
Structure 90-day actions and draft planning outputs
AI is not used as:
-
A document vault or regulated advice file
-
A client record database
-
Identity verification (KYC)
-
Transaction execution
Where your information is processed
Your entries are processed inside your AI platform account (e.g., the chat/project you are using).
That platform may process data on cloud infrastructure that can be outside the UK.
The Academy of Life Planning does not receive, download, or store your chat content unless you choose to copy/paste or send it to us separately.
If you work with a regulated adviser
If regulated advice is provided, your adviser is responsible for their own record-keeping and compliance.
Total Wealth Plan remains educational decision-support, and will signpost you to professional advice when questions enter regulated territory.
Your control and choices
You remain in control of:
-
What you enter (and the level of detail)
-
Whether you proceed at all
-
Whether you share anything with a practitioner
You can usually manage retention and deletion inside your AI account settings. If you want maximum privacy, use ranges, anonymise details, and avoid identifiable facts.
Safeguarding note
If you share signs of severe distress or self-harm, Total Wealth Plan will pause planning and point you to appropriate crisis support. Your wellbeing comes first.
By continuing, you confirm you understand:
-
you control what you share,
-
AoLP does not store your chat content, and
-
your AI platform processes the conversation under its own terms.
